This type of technique was developed by a surrealist as a means of expressing the subconscious. From what I understand I think that automatism is like free drawing of the mind. Wherever you hand goes on the paper is where your mind isn’t. You’re moving your hand subconsciously… thats soo weird. Its like just taking your pencil and taking paper and letting your mind and limbs go free, let them do whatever they please.

In the description of automatism it says : In applying chance and accident to mark-making, drawing is to a large extent freed of rational control. Hence the drawing produced may be attributed in part to the subconscious and may reveal something of the psyche, which would otherwise be repressed. Surrealist artists often found that their use of ‘automatic drawing’ was not entirely automatic, rather it involved some form of conscious intervention to make the image or painting visually acceptable or comprehensible.

I like this technique…its very unique and unpredictable. Because when you let your hands draw whatever your mind is thinking or not thinking with out really looking at your masterpiece, you’ll be amazed with what you’ve created. Sometimes your subconsciousness may not cease to amaze you.

So that’s a bit of her biography that I go-ogled up…pretty interesting how she went through all of that to attain her surrealism. Recently I was looking at one of her paintings and they were verrryy interesting. And I didn’t really get it at first and I’m struggling to upload one of the paintings hehe.

Unfortunately  he work was interrupted by WWII, but she eventually got back to work and worked harder than ever. By the 1960s she was producing Tachist paintings with Surrealist elements. Many of her pictures are surreal and I’m trying to add it on the post.

So five interesting facts about Mr. Moore: (btw I’m Ms.Moore)

- Firstly I never knew he was born in 1970…dude is OLD…his FORTY! I never knew that…shocked but I can accept it. And he used to model before he became an actor. Welll duhhhh just look at his gorge body. I can’t really display his picture up cause that would be inappropriate of me to do even though I’m itching to and I wouldn’t want to display him for everyone when his clearly mine.

-Secondly his father is African American and his mother is of Irish and French descent…I always assumed he was black with a bit of Spanish.

-Thirdly his mother suffers from multiple sclerosis

Breaks my heart…I wasn’t aware of that.

-Fourthly he isn’t GAY! Not to sound rude or anything I’m just trying to defend my love.

On July 20, 2007 Moore addressed nude photographs that were taken at a gay beach, as well as claims that he is a homosexual in People Magazine and In Touch Weekly,^[8] saying:

“Look, I had no problems…. What I have a problem with is their making such an issue out of me being gay. I’ll say it right now: I’m not gay. I love women. Women are God’s greatest creation.”

C’mon people just because he goes to a nude beach and his naked in the water doesn’t mean his gay. Its a free country…gosh. And he clearly states he loves women. I guess he forgot to mention somebody but that’s okay because women are God’s greatest creation

-Lastly,he was injured when a car struck him while he was bicycling in the hills near his home. He had to stay off the show for couple of episode of Season 5 to heal. And I was there to comfort him…obviously in spirit because I can’t fly to Virginia all the time.

On April 7, 2010, Shemar appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show and talked about how he was injured when a car struck him while he was bicycling in the hills near his home. Injuries included a cracked rib and a broken leg, from which he has now healed. He also indicated his reluctance at approaching 40 years of age; Ellen subsequently gave him personalized license plates reading 40NHOT (40 And Hot), as he had revealed his desire to buy himself an Audi R8. He also indicated that he was single, and looking. <<< F.Y.I This was before we met.

And yes my ideal car is and Audi. I didn’t know we had this much in common.

I totally agree with the license plate the Ellen gave him 40NHOT…I wonder if he has the for his Audi R8.

I remember the days I use to listen to my elemantary school teachers read his poems. Sigh….those were the days.

Anywho so I’m like a big fan of Dennis Lee…I love his stories and poems and there’s on of his poems which I used to love as a kid and its at the tip of tongue can’t remember it…darn it.

Dennis Lee was born on August 31st 1939 and his Canadian poet and thinker who lives in Toronto, ON and his also a childrens’ writer. Lee attended the University of Toronto Schools and Victoria College, University of Toronto (B.A., 1962; M.A., 1965), where he taught for several years. He was a founder of the experimental Rochdale College, Toronto, and co-founder (with Dave Godfrey) of the House of Anansi Press. After his association with Anansi ended, Lee embarked on a varied career, writing poems for children and song-lyrics for the television program Fraggle Rock, and serving as a literary consultant for both MacMillan  and McClelland & Stewart. He was Scottish-Canadian Exchange Fellow at the University of Edinburgh (1980–1), and received an honorary degree from Trent University. An Officer of the Order of Canada, he divides his time between Toronto and Costa Rica.

He wrote a lot of children s’ books and poems that were funny and catchy. He knows how to engage into a child’s world and make them feel all of this different types of positive emotions. As a child I felt that he was one of the reason as to why I read poetry and riddles because I was interested in the way he rhymed and the way he used his words. Even as a child I wondered these things.

Oh yeaaaah its called Alligator Pie. My favourite poem of Dennis Lee is called Alligator Pie. Ahh duhhhhh.

Okaayy you can sayy awkward and scary.  The noises kinda creeped me out at first and then I had this sudden urge to just exit the clip and find something else to watch but then I felt as if I was hypnotized…okay maybe that’s pushing it, but it was very appealing.

For some odd reason the first thing that came to mind when I was listening to this clip was Oliver Twist don’t know why but it did. Maybe it was because of the slowness of the song and the singing of the choir. Reminded me of orphans in an orphanage eating porridge.

To tell you the truth I had a hard time finding sounds the interested me or sounds that I knew nothing about so I would be able to ask questions for. So I thank the few classmates’ blogs,who some I don’t even know who they are for giving me this idea of sound.

So epitaph I tried guessing what it meant but the only thing that came to mind was a graph which totally doesn’t making any sense. I dictionary.com it and its means one of two things : a commemorative inscription on a tomb or mortuary monument about the person buried at that site or a brief poem or other writing in praise of a deceased person.

Even though the background sounds is from a choir this artist, Murray Schafer, managed to link the visuals and sounds together. And even though the visuals don’t make sense at first but as you listened to the sounds it  gave it meaning, a significant meaning. Why does this artist choose the epitaph for moonlight as a video for this particular piece? Is the piece reflected upon the epitaph for moonlight? These are one of the many questions that bother me. And why does every sound clip I list to have to be so depressing and gloomy??I feel so down and sleep now, why couldn’t this be a happy-go-lucky kind of thing.

Sonic Boom Meets Sun Dog

So I knew that you could feel and hear sounds but I never knew that  you could actually see them. But that was sooooooo cooool! I’m likee so amazeeed! So wait, was it the aircraft that made the sound look that way? But why that’s so unusual to happen..or maybe we just don’t realize the smallest things like sound waves. Does every sound have some kind of waves coming from it?? Hmm maybe they do we just need to pay more attention. So interesting how it was caught on tape with the spaceship in the air with all the sound and vibration creating sound waves. Could it be the louder the sound the more the waves or the more vibration the more movement? I think I’m gonna experiment a bit with this and see if I could see sounds rather than actually feeling or hearing them by putting my speakers loud. And I’ll figure out another way to experiment can’t think of one now but I’ll let you know when I do.

Anyway I found this piece verrrrrrry interesting, reason being that the sound flowed with the colors. The background was a maroon and the white color indicated the sound, so every time the sound would increase, the amount of white lines increase at the top of the screen. So basically there’s like a cut off  line in the middle which meant when there’s just a white line in the middle of the screen it indicates a pause. Its like each line represented a sound….if the sound was low  then the lines would start low key at the bottom of the screen  and then high at the top. And at times the lines would vibrate and move around depending on the type of movements that they did with their mouth.

I enjoyed this piece, very unique compared to the one that I posted previously. And the fact that we can’t see the person making this sounds and they used colors and backgrounds to indicate the sounds was a pretty neat idea.

Is it like the recording thingy when your recording yourself and the lines & colours move up and down depending on how high or low you go? Or is it just trying to show us the different ways of sound and how it could be expressed with colors rather than people.

Hmm this are the questions that haunt me. bahahahaha

The screeeeeching was incredible and painful at the same time but I think it was because I had ear phones on. I had to replay the video so that I could watch the girl on the right because the whole time she was doing all the high pithiness and like she never lost her breath.

Around the middle, as they began to sing with the sounds  it actually started to sound decent and nice. I think that’s when I felt less frightened compared to the beginning of their piece. And I found it funny how the girl to the left and the one in the middle would communicate with each other…it felt like it was a whole new language…weird huh? At least I think they were communicating.

You know I wish I could be like the girl on the right and do the high pitches without breaking it up constantly.

Nonetheless this was a very interesting piece to watch and listen to.
